Our Vision and Mission

We bridge the gap between the laboratory and the market, where the risk level is too high for institutional investors.

The discovery phase represents the first, and most creative phase in the process leading up to a new therapeutic principle or a new technology.

This phase is mainly based on the individual work of the researcher, on his/her diligence and ability in finding successful opportunities and following his/her intuition.

This phase is characterized by the highest risk of failure, but also the highest return on investment in the event of success.

Institutional investors consider the risk to be too high, and researchers are usually obliged to rely on limited public funds, and no management support, in order to move from the academic labs out into the field of applied research.

Our mission is to make a contribution to the development of a prosperous biotech cluster in Italy by helping to bridge the gap between the laboratory and the market with financial resources and management support.

We evaluate, select and fund interesting research projects from Italian scientists (in Italy or abroad) in order to transform them into new companies:

• High innovation content, high potential and high risk
• High levels of commitment and motivation from the researchers
• Adequate capacity, attitude and flexibility, to manage industrial research projects, where the rationale and possible objectives are clear from the start
